New Investor for renewable energy forecasting specialist NAECO Blue

Bad Schwartau, 30. April 2022

CapCerta GmbH & Co KG has become the latest shareholder in NAECO Blue following significant investment in the innovative renewable energy planning solutions developer this month. The investment catalyzes NAECO Blue’s development of future technologies using AI and machine learning to forecast energy production and consumption from renewable resources through a unique, algorithm-based Data-as-a-Service Solution.

“To join forces with CapCerta is a huge step for us as it helps us to boost our innovative algorithm based predictive solution to the next level and get as close to predicting the future as possible,” said Felix Ollech, Founder and CEO of NAECO Blue GmbH.

“The investment and cooperation with CapCerta is a huge benefit for building up our IT infrastructure, leveraging our extensive knowledge-base and further automating our algorithm to become a fast, stand-alone solution. Due to the access to the data of one of Germanys biggest state of the art windfarms, being just realized partly by CapCerta, we will be able to increase the accuracy of the existing algorithm for the day-ahead energy feed-in prognosis of windfarms,” said Hannan Naseem & Maryum Nawaz, head programmers at NAECO Blue GmbH.

With on-going global energy supply-chain challenges, it is now more important than ever to harness clean energy from renewable sources. But in order to do this effectively, the volatility of wind and solar power must be addressed. NAECO Blue’s solution is a location and site-specific feed-in forecast for the next 48 hours in 15 minutes steps, the heartbeat of the energy industry, that gives energy producers, traders and energy intensive companies a dependable view of upcoming capacity.

The solution also gives solar and wind energy project developers a stable and insightful platform for reducing their risk and maximizing profits on new and established installations. The NACEO Blue developed algorithm is also capable of consumption forecasts and analyzing existing plants or simulations of new plants, as well as more diverse application for effective wind or solar park management.

The combination of feed-in, consumption and condition monitoring is the key to efficient energy use, which can mitigate grid problems and allow more energy resilience and self-sufficiency.

The CapCerta Team is thrilled to be part of the future development of a highly innovative Tech-Company working in the field of Regenerative Energies. NAECO Blue will be a key component of CapCertas future growth as innovator within the European Energy Market, said Torsten Klemm, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at CapCerta GmbH & Co. KG.

NAECO Blue’s journey to a green and renewable energy supply is possible thanks to its forward thinking and environmentally conscious first round investors. The latest financing round was supported by Dr. Conrad Grau (Lawyer specializing in corporate law, Hamburg) and Dr. Nina Wagner (Notary Mönkebergstraße, Hamburg). (Links zu Conrad und Nina)

Vestas seals largest EnVentus order to date in Germany

News release from Vestas Northern and Central Europe
Hamburg, 25 March 2021

Vestas has secured its largest EnVentus order yet in Germany, at the 39 MW Wohlsdorf project in Rotenburg, Lower Saxony. Vestas will supply seven V150-5.6 MW turbines to the project, which is located in between Bremen and Hamburg.

The Wohlsdorf project is being developed by Windpark Wohlsdorf GmbH & Co. KG, a special purpose company owned by Reon and CapCerta. The project was awarded as part of the German Federal Network Agency’s (BNetzA) latest onshore wind auction rounds.

The V150 EnVentus turbines in Wohlsdorf will reach a tip height of 244 meters and will be serviced and maintained by Vestas through a long-term 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.

“The Wohlsdorf project is an excellent example of how local developers, local stakeholders, and authorities can come together with a common interest to develop a wind energy project which benefits both the local community and the environment”, said Jens Kück, Director Sales Germany North at Vestas Northern & Central Europe. “This is an exciting project for Vestas, not only due to its size as a large project in Northern Germany. We are pleased to be partnering with Reon and CapCerta for the first time, and their selection of V150 EnVentus technology for the Wohlsdorf project further highlights the relevance and industry-leading performance of the EnVentus platform in Germany”.

Vestas’ EnVentus platform has also secured orders in Sweden and Ukraine in the first quarter of 2021, proving the regional applicability of the advanced modular design approach applied in the platform. With this project, Vestas has secured an order intake of more than 2.3 GW across three continents for the EnVentus platform.

Tom Becker, CEO at Reon said: “After almost eight years of project development, we are pleased to have reached this important milestone in the Wohlsdorf project. With the V150 EnVentus turbines, we are able to make a significant contribution to climate protection. With this venture we also pave the way to ‘power to x’ development in this region. We would like to thank all stakeholders for the great cooperation so far and especially would like to thank our team for their strong commitment.”

Torsten Klemm, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at CapCerta added: “We are very thrilled that after having signed the first lease contract with a local farmer back in November 2013, that seven and a half years later we have overcome all regulatory, technical and logistical obstacles and are ready to built one of the most powerful onshore wind projects in Germany. Today we are able to lease around 100ha of land from more than 30 landowners. In addition, we are especially proud that our project enhances the value of the region around Rotenburg (Wümme) and contributes financially and environmentally to the community”.

The Wohlsdorf project will see the first turbines delivered and installed in the second quarter of 2022.

AI Startup Landscape 2022

Bad Schwartau, 26. April 2022
by UnternehmerTUM.

Proud to have NAECO Blue named as one of the 304 most promising AI-Start Ups in Germany!

The 304 most promising German AI startups working across enterprise functions, enterprise intelligence, technology type and industries.

In order to highlight AI startups in Germany, drive AI adoption and create more partnership opportunities between startups and corporations appliedAI has launched the annual German AI Startup Landscape. Together with the help of our +40 partners from academia, government and industry – we have set out to create an ecosystem in which AI startups can flourish and help shape the future of AI for the benefit of society. By creating a centralized database of quality AI startups, corporations and SMEs will have easier access to AI partners they can trust. This year, the data collected shows that the AI startups are blossoming outside of the main startups hubs – Berlin and Munich.

Together with NVIDIA, Google and nine venture capital firms (Digital+ Partners, Earlybird Capital, eCAPITAL, High-Tech Founder Funds, HV Holtzbrinck Ventures, Lakestar, UVC, La Famiglia and Asgard), over 400 startups were examined (see details on methodology below). All startups were founded after 2012 with a business model based on machine learning. The startups were founded in Germany or conduct their main business activities in Germany.
